Part of me thinks that tomorrow I’m going to wake up wondering where my life has gone…that’s what everyone says it’s like when they’re staring their last year of their 20’s (their youth) in the face. Tomorrow morning I will be 29. To most, it’s just a number…a scary number that means that the dreaded 30 is looming just one short trip around the sun from now. Most women dread 30, they talk about 30 like it’s this horrible decade where their skin will fall off and they’ll be deemed too old to accomplish anything by society, cast aside to make room for the 20 somethings and their youthful motivation.
My name is Nicole and I think it’s all bullshit.
My 20’s have been amazing. I married my best friend, had two children, survived so many hardships and built up two businesses. My 20’s is symbolic of so many things…it’s the decade I went from a scared little girl that had no idea who she was to a woman that knew exactly what she wanted and was willing to go great lengths to get there. My 20’s have been high and low…i’ve watched a lot of tv, i’ve yelled a lot and cried and wondered why a TON. I lost 2 people very important to me this decade so I guess you can say there is a reason I can’t wait to leave my 20’s behind. 9 years ago I was an entirely different person than I am today.
That being said, I cannot wait to be 30. I know my 30’s will bring heartache and challenges but it’s going to be so much more than that. I have one year to accomplish so much…365 days from today I want my blog entry to surprise even me!
SO, that being said- I have created a 29th Birthday bucket list. These are the things I want to accomplish before it is my birthday again. Your support is greatly appreciated and if you have anything you think I should add please let me know!
